What is Virtuoso?

Virtuoso is GTA's premier provider of in-home music lessons. Our skilled instructors offer lessons in the comfort of your home. Simply let us know the instrument you'd like to master, along with your location and schedule, and our consultants will connect you with a music teacher in your vicinity. All Virtuoso instructors are assessed based on their expertise, education, and demeanor. Additionally, we consistently monitor feedback from both clients and teachers to ensure the utmost satisfaction with the service we deliver. Virtuoso strives to provide you with quality, convenience, and high-grade music education.

How often should students take lessons?

Students should tailor their lessons based on their individual needs. Typically, young children who are just starting to learn an instrument opt for a half-hour lesson on a weekly basis. Adult beginners, with a greater capacity for sustained focus and interest, are recommended to take longer sessions of 1 hour, or two 30 minute lessons per week. Consistency is key, and all students are encouraged to engage in weekly lessons, as well as practice outside of lessons to facilitate steady progress. For those preparing intensively for a recital, exam, or other special project, some of our clientele choose to take 2 lessons per week.

What if we can't make a lesson?

If you are unable to make a lesson, please let us know as soon as possible and we will simply skip the lesson. You will not be charged for skipped lessons. Additionally, if you find out you are sick the morning of the lesson, we will provide a full refund and continue lessons at a more convenient time.

What if we are going on vacation or need to skip multiple lessons?

Simply contact us by phone and email and provide us with the dates you will be absent. You will not be charged for any of those dates, and can continue lessons when you return.

What is your policy on discontinuing lessons?

Recurring lessons are charged on a weekly basis and may be cancelled at any time, please reach out to us via phone or email to do so.

How does Virtuoso look after the safety of clients?

Virtuoso thoroughly assesses candidates applying for teaching positions, considering factors such as education, experience, and attitude. In addition, all applicants undergo an RCMP criminal records database check for a comprehensive evaluation.

What are the rates for lessons?

Virtuoso's pricing structure is as follows: $75.00 for a 60-minute lesson and $50.00 for a 30-minute lesson. The travel fee is integrated into these rates to fairly compensate our teachers for accommodating lessons in the comfort of your home.

Do you offer group lessons?
We do offer group lessons. When selecting a time slot, it is up to you to divide it as you see fit. For example, if you select the $75 one-hour slot, the teacher can spend half an hour with one student, and the other half with another student at no additional costs.

Do I need to have my own instrument in order to take lessons?

Yes. In any musical instruction you will need an instrument to practice on in order to make progress. Regarding pianos, an 88-key keyboard is an appropriate substitute.
Can I speak with the instructor before I book the lesson?

Certainly! After registration, your teacher will initiate contact, and you can discuss their teaching approach and experience over the phone. There's no financial commitment for this initial conversation.
